PositivelyLV Mailbag for March 20

By Beth Fisher. CREATED Mar 20, 2014

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Today, we are dipping into the PositivelyLV mailbag and talking about some of the great stuff that is happening in our community.

Up first is an anonymous donation of a five-passenger vehicle to the Las Vegas Urban League. Before this donation, the Urban League was renting cars to make the monthly trip to Pahrump to help families in need.

Also in this week's mailbag, a giant thank you to Richard Wilk and the D hotel.  They invited Nicholas Burns and his parents to enjoy VIP treatment at an REO Speedwagon concert. Nicholas has Battens Disease and can barely talk and can't see but loves music and lights up when he hears it.  Mr. Wilk and the D even gave the family back-stage passes.

When they aren't in court, Cogburn Law offices serves our community.  They recently volunteered at Three Square Food Bank.  All told, they packed more than 2,800 backpacks and more than 1,000 care boxes of food.

And finally, a way you can help make Las Vegas a better place to live. Donate a baby blanket. Todaysthebestday.com is teaming up with local charity, The Lullaby Connection. They are hoping to hit a goal of 100 blankets donated to help Vegas babies.
