Las Vegas teen gets top honor

By Beth Fisher. CREATED Feb 7, 2014

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas teen is getting a huge honor this weekend, and it's an honor only 88 others in the world currently hold.

Nicholas Salamunovich is 17 years old.  He is being recognized by the Knights of Columbus for his outstanding service to the community. He has performed more than 1,500 hours of community service and has spent time studying his faith.

For his efforts, he'll be named Squire of the Body of Christ. Only 88 people in the world currently hold this title. "It feels great knowing I've been able to accomplish something big."

Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization with the Catholic church.  The squires are the junior organization.
