Mountain Ridge All-Stars having fun before the big game

The Mountain Ridge All-Stars are wowing the world right now with their performances during the Little League World Series.

Good Morning Las Vegas anchor Beth Fisher spoke to their coach on Thursday and he said the players are having a good time off the field too.

The team has taken time to encourage disabled children and has been signing autographs.

Coach Ashton Cave said he has been making sure the boys are taking breaks from the spotlight though. When they are in the dorms away from the public and the media, the team has been making friends with the Aussies and the Canadians and hanging out in the game room.

Beth visited the team during a practice well before they made it to the world series. She said the team is humble and she could see then just how eager they were for a chance to go to the World Series.

Many fans don't realize the boys also won the Nevada State Championship last year but were too young to go to the tournament.

The team's next game, when they play for the United States championship, will take place on Saturday. The game begins at 12:30 p.m. and it will be shown on Channel 13. If they win, they will play in the title game on Aug. 24.

All 43 PT's or Sierra Gold tavern locations in Las Vegas will be showing the game. They will offer $3 Miller Lite and Coors Light pint specials during the game.
