Study says bad food cravings can be turned into healthy ones

By Rebecca Lewis. CREATED Sep 2, 2014

Is it possible to trick your brain into craving healthier snacks instead of junk food?

A new study says absolutely.

Researchers say participants were offered healthier meals for six months and only took in about 500-1,000 calories a day.

At the end of the six months, MRI scans revealed the low-calorie options stimulated their brains instead of the usually appealing high-calorie foods, like french fries.

The study was published in the journal Nutrition & Diabetes.
