Washington, D.C., named fittest city in America
The annual list of the most fit cities in the United States has been released by the American College of Sports Medicine.
So, who is at the top? The nation's capitol, Washington, D.C., is number one when it comes to fit, healthy living.
Minneapolis-St. Paul, which was in the top spot the last three years, was bumped down to No. 2. Portland, Ore., Denver and San Francisco round out the top five.
The study compared the nation's 50 largest metropolitan areas based on federal and other data. The list is based on 31 indicators in four categories: chronic health problems, health behaviors, physical or built environments and recreational facilities.
The bottom five cities for 2014 are Nashville, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Louisville, Ky., and Memphis.
