Two planes collide at Logan Airport before take-off

A “fender bender” at Boston’s Logan International Airport Monday morning will likely come with a high price tag.

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 accidentally backed into a parked and empty JetBlue Airbus 320, damaging both planes. The Southwest flight had 108 passengers on board headed to Kansas City. No injuries were reported.

MassPort said in statement, “At 7:08 this morning, a Southwest aircraft was pushing back from the gate when the wingtip struck the horizontal stabilizer of an empty parked JetBlue aircraft. There were no injuries and no impact to airport operations,” reports CBS Boston.

The passengers were rebooked for other flights as both damaged planes will now need to be thoroughly inspected and repaired.
