Jeralean Talley turned 115 years old on May 23. She was born in Montrose, Ga. in 1899.

According to CBS Detroit, Talley says, “I don’t drink beer or whiskey. I might take a swallow of wine.”

Talley is believed to be the oldest living American, and the second-oldest person in the world, after 116-year-old Misao Okawa, who resides in Japan.

“It’s all in the good Lord’s hands,” Talley says in regards to her age, reports CBS Detroit. "Talley’s knees occasionally hurt, her right hand shakes, she has a hard time hearing and her memory comes and goes."

Talley's 76-year-old daughter cares for her mother. Talley's husband died in 1988.
