Actor Jason Biggs is apologizing on Twitter for what he calls “insensitive and ill-timed” jokes about Thursday’s Malaysian Airlines disaster in Ukraine in which nearly 300 lives were lost when flight MH17 was shot down.

The “Orange is the New Black” star got plenty of backlash after he tweeted, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"

After initially defending his post, he’s now apologizing in a series of tweets.

Biggs is best known for his role in the “American Pie” film series, and for voicing the role of Leonardo in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Known for being outspoken on social media, Biggs “faced a similar situation when he joked about dead ‘Bachelorette’ contestant Eric Hill in May,” Entertainment Tonight reports.

"Crazy rule change- instead of voting off the contestants, this season #TheBachelorette gets to kill them off," he tweeted during the ABC show's season premiere.
