It's being called the greatest college football game ever, but it spawned larceny during the joyful celebration of Auburn's 34-28 last-second win over Alabama on Saturday.

The teenager who reportedly stole the visor of Auburn coach Gus Malzahn wants to return it.

According to The War Eagle Reader, a 15-year-old boy named Hayden stole it, but has sent a message to the Auburn coach.

"Dear Coach Malzahn,

"I saw this on YouTube and war eagle reader and thought, “Holy crap what have I done!”   I am soooooooo sorry about taking your visor; I took it thinking you would just throw it into the audience later anyway. If you guys can send me the address to return it to then I’ll be more then happy to do so…."

There was no initial response from the Auburn coach.
