Both the FBI and Apple are investigating the massive weekend hack of leaked nude photos from several celebrity iCloud accounts.

Laura Eimiller, FBI spokeswoman, said in a statement, "The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter," reports CNN. "Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time."

According to CNN, "We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report,"  Natalie Kerries, Apple spokeswoman, said in a statement regarding claims blaming a flaw in Apple's "Find My Phone" app that allegedly led hackers to private iCloud data.

"Lawrence's publicist said 'authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,'" CNN details.

Despite the leaked nude photos posted on multiple sites including Reddit and Twitter, gossip blogger Perez Hilton also posted images of Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence and Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice. Hilton has since removed the images from his site.

According to CNN, "Kate Upton's lawyer confirmed photos of the model-actress were among those leaked, calling it 'an outrageous violation' of her privacy," attorney Lawrence Shire said in a statement. "We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."

While some of the allegedly 101 celebrities have admitted to taking the photos, others claim that their images are fake or have been doctored.

If the hacker is found, he or she could be sent to prison. Christopher Chaney was sentenced to 10 years in prison almost two years ago for posting stolen nude photos of actress Scarlet Johansson.

The first case of celebrity hacking happened in 2005 involving socialite Paris Hilton.
