A huge, stainless steel statue of actress Marilyn Monroe was discarded at a dump in China last week, making for some dramatic photos like the one above and others you can see here.
NBC News reports the statue, which weighs nearly eight tons, was dumped at a garbage collecting company in Guigang. It stands nearly 30 feet tall, but was left face down and dress up.
The statue “was made by several Chinese artists over two years, based on the famous scene from her movie ‘The Seven Year Itch,’” NBC reports.
It is not known why the statue was discarded. NBC says it had previously been “on display outside a business center in the city for only six months, local media reported.”
