A Coors Light Canada scavenger hunt was cut short when the company's prize was spotted and reported to police as a "suspicious package." It happened in Toronto July 7. The area surrounding the promotional briefcase containing the prize was closed for an estimated hour.

"The grey 'search and rescue' box was attached to the railing of a streetcar stop at Spadina and Dundas," reports Metro News Canada. "The box was part of a month-long online promotion by the beer company to find hidden prizes with the help of an online treasure map and Twitter. But the fun went off the rails when the box was mistaken for a threat and police were called to investigate."

The prize was placed on one of Toronto's busiest intersections. The Toronto Transit Commission disrupted several routes and caused a hectic traffic jam for commuters while it investigated the threat.

The investigation began just after 5 p.m. on July 7, and the area was deemed "safe" around 6:15 p.m. The company later apologized on Twitter.
