Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's supposed to prevent unwanted pregnancy, but at what cost to a woman's health?
Thursday night on Action News Live @ 11, Contact 13 Chief Investigators Darcy Spears looks into serious side effects women say are the direct result of a popular birth control device.
"I went and saw all these doctors. It consumed my life," said Jenny Taffel.
"I had to go through so much for it finally to be discovered what was wrong," added Indi Kaufmann.
A simple medical device called Essure, which is supposed to be an easy, non-surgical solution for women who want permanent birth control.
Women in Las Vegas and across the country said the risks far outweigh the benefits of the little coil.
