Security freeze on your credit

CREATED Aug. 8, 2013

Identity theft cases are on the rise and that means your risk of being a victim is also up.

Consumer Affairs says placing a security freeze on your credit is a low-cost way to protect against ID theft.

All three credit reporting agencies; Experian, Equifax and Trans Union, all make it simple for you to place security freezes on your credit reports.

The typical fee is about $10 per credit reporting agency, for a total of $30.
