Distracted driving guidelines
Federal safety regulators have issued new rules they hope will limit distracted driving.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood calls distracted driving a "deadly epidemic."
The voluntary guidelines ask automakers to disable distracting gadgets, when the car is moving. That applies to all built-in devices, like navigation units.
The guidelines also recommend disabling text messaging and internet browsing, unless the vehicle is stopped and in park.
