Mastercard and American Express are stepping up the sale of their customer information.
According to Advertising Age, the credit companies are approaching advertising and marketing firms.
Those companies use consumer data to get a better idea of what people are buying at stores and online.
Mastercard and AmEx both say the data is made anonymous, so individual consumer names aren't revealed.
Both companies have a lot of info to share. MasterCard alone has data representing 80 billion consumer purchases.
