How closely do you look at your cell phone bill? The Federal Trade Commission has taken legal action to shut down a Georgia company called Wise Media.
It's accused of collecting millions of dollars through what's called "cramming", that's an unauthorized charge found on a phone bill. The FTC says people across the country were unknowingly charged $9.99 per month for premium text message services.
The FTC's complaint calls it a deceptive and unfair practice and looks to immediately freeze the company's assets. This is the FTC's first case against a company for mobile cramming.
