FTC warning about new phone scam

CREATED Mar. 19, 2013

We have a Contact 13 Consumer Alert about a new phone scam.

The caller claims to be a federal employee informing you that you're among the first selected to receive health insurance cards as part of "The Affordable Care Act."

But before they mail out the cards, the caller asks for your personal information including; name, address, phone number and bank account number.

If you get one of these calls, hang up. Then report it to the FTC by calling (877) 382-4357.
