Comments wanted on credit card reform
CREATED Feb. 8, 2013
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau wants to hear from you. It's asking for public input on the 2009 CARD Act, which covers a number of credit card reforms.
Most importantly it helps prevent the practice of credit card companies hiking interest rates on existing cardholder accounts. Now the Bureau wants to know what other protections may need to be put in place.
The comments will be part of a public report to Congress on the state of the consumer credit card market. The Bureau will use the gathered data to help make future policy decisions.
The comment period expires February 19.
