Virtual high school collecting laptops for students

CREATED Dec. 3, 2013

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Tis the season to give to others and a local high school is hoping you'll give your a laptop.

Virtual High school has more than 180 full-time students.

The classes are teacher-led but they are all online. So students must have a computer to get the work done.

Now, Virtual High School is holding a holiday laptop drive. Principal Darlin Delgado said, "The way that I look at it, nowadays, computers and technology is the new text book. In order to provide our students with a 21st century learning education, they have to have access to technology, the Internet, and be able to be successful."

A computer company has agreed to refurbish any donated laptops.

The school will issue them to students based on financial need.

If you'd like to donate a new or used laptop computer, you can drop it off at Virtual High School's offices located inside the PBS building at 3050 East Flamingo Road.
