Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- On Friday night, the Springs Preserve will be full of some of my favorite things: great wine, great music, and children running and playing. It's all to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
JDRF ambassadors Hallie and Blake will both be there. Hallie was diagnosed after mom noticed she was drinking gallons of water. Blake says his doctor caught it during a routine exam. Both of these young people will be at the Rock the Walk event. It's a fun night under the stars for the whole family. Money raised from ticket sales goes to fund diabetes research.
JDRF Board President Christian Haase has a son with diabetes. "The technology is good now. They can eat what they want but they have to keep track of it and check their blood and administer insulin. They work hard at it so our deal around our house is we're going to work hard as parents to find a cure as long as you'll work hard to take care of yourself."
This evening under the stars started in Chris' backyard as a kick-off party for the Walk to Cure Diabetes. Now, the party sells out every year with 800 guests. Tickets start at 50 bucks
