Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- If you're looking for a unique way to experience Christmas, you might want to step back in time. A church in Henderson has created a town square reminiscent of Normal Rockwell's Americana.
This beautiful village including snowball fights, fresh-baked cookies, and hot chocolate is open for your family to wander through for free on Christmas Eve. The unique event was created by the Church at Lake Mead
and it's open to anyone who wants to come.
Heather Childs came up with the idea. She says they want to give people an experience rather than another service on Christmas Eve. "We all know what we're going to get when we go to a Christmas Eve Service. The story of the birth of our Savior. And so how exciting to get that as well but leave and go 'wow we just saw the most amazing thing happen' and take that with you for the rest of your Christmas with your family."
As part of the evening, the church has adopted 11 families who will pick up toys from the toy store and food baskets from the mercantile. So they will be part of the fun too. Experience Christmas is open to everyone tonight at 6pm at the Church at Lake Mead
located at 540 East Lake Mead Parkway.
