Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas artist is single handedly making Las Vegas a better place to live.
Six-year-old Truth is doing something many kids her age don't any more. She's problem solving, creating, thinking and loving where her painted fingers are taking her. "I like making art because you can use different colors."
Truth is able to experience art inside this downtown non-profit gallery called City of the World -- run by her grandmother, Roz Knight. "I believe art is for everybody and you must start young."
The gallery offers classes and tours to students of all ages but Roz worries about those kids who can't make it downtown to the gallery. "Who knows what's going on. They're on tv. Texting. And no one is thinking. And no one is doing so we're losing a lot of things with kids."
So she's taking the gallery to them. The RTC donated 3 buses and Roz launched Artz To Go. Her team will go to 4 city parks and rec centers, serve food, and offer up art classes to the kids. "It teaches self esteem, it teaches empowerment, it teaches a cultural identity."
All things she wishes for her grandaughter and everyone else's.
Roz is launching Artz to go on faith. A lot of faith in all of us. Here's why. She got the busses donated, the wraps donated but she needs art supplies and cash for gas and supplies.
But Roz is taking those busses to 4 locations starting THIS Monday July 15th. Artz To Go will run Monday-Thursday for the next month. If you want to help, drop off art supplies here at the station or click here.
