Women's Resource Medical Centers helps women in need
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Pregnancy is an exciting time in a woman's life, unless it is something that the person was not planning on.
Then, it can be a stressful and upsetting time.
But, women in Southern Nevada have a place they can go and that place is making Las Vegas a better place to live.
2-year-old Ezra is a very busy little boy. And like most kids is age, sticky notes and camera lights are all it takes to entertain him.
What Ezra doesn't know is that he has been coming to the Women's Resource Medical Center even before he was born.
Ezra's mom Denisha says she came in for a free pregnancy test but kept coming back for prenatal and emotional support and eventually for food and clothes for Ezra.
Denisha is not alone. Despite the fact the center never advertises, the Women's Resource Medical Center is one of the busiest crisis pregnancy centers in the nation serving more than 5,000 clients per year.
Esther Goelleher is the chief executive officer of the center and she makes not attempt to hide their agenda.
The center is a pro-life, non-denominational Christian center. Because they offer to pray with their client, the center does not receive any federal funding.
In addition to pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, the center also provides maternity clothes, diapers, formula, car seats and more.
Everything is free.
