Devil Pups sending 27 kids to Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base

Devil Pups sending 27 kids to Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you've ever wanted to help some of Nevada's finest kids but weren't sure how, consider getting your car washed Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW Henderson Post.

The money raised goes to the Southern Nevada Devil Pups.

Devil Pups is a youth leadership program we first told you about several months ago.  Our kids train and volunteer and work for months to earn a spot to a 10-day camp at Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base.

Here's the deal. Right now, we have 39 devil pups -- 28 boys and 11 girls -- fighting for just 27 spots. But they need to raise money to get the 27 kids there.

Marie Tomao is the Liaison Representative for Devil Pups. "At Camp Pendleton they will learn about leadership, team building, self confidence, self esteem, how to set goals, overcome fears."

Southwest Gas just helped in a big way, donating $1,000 dollars to Devil Pups. But they need to raise about $14,000 to get all 27 kids to Camp Pendleton.

The car wash is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW Henderson Post at 401 East Lake Mead Drive.

For more information, call Marie Tomao at 285-4142.
