Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 16-year-old Las Vegas girl is determined to help the kids in her neighborhood. Some of whom have been featured in our newscasts for all the wrong reasons. But Alexandra Sagona believes she can help and she's making Las Vegas a better place to live.
Alexandra says her neighborhood -- a very nice neighborhood -- is packed with hurting teenagers.
So about a year ago, Alexandra mustered up the courage to invite these kids to join her every Thursday night for a Bible study which she does her best to lead.
Now, she's organized a weekend car wash to send her study group to a Bible college summer camp.
"I think they need to see what it's like to have purpose. What could be their life -- college, making friends, being able to have amazing careers and learning about God at the same time is one of the most amazing things you could do."
Alexandra is a tiny, petite sweet little thing and she admits the kids in her youth group intimidated her at first but she insists underneath the tough exterior they have sweet, soft hearts.
You can meet them all at a car wash on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14, at the Glaziers parking lot at 8525 West Warm Springs.
