Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you are a friend of the nonprofit community, you can't afford to miss this story. The leaders in the tech community here in Las Vegas are planning to give their talent for free to any nonprofit working here. They are the minds behind Las Vegas GiveCamp.
Inside this office space -- called Work in Progress -- are some of the brightest tech minds in Nevada. And this summer, many of them will be donating their time for our favorite nonprofits in Nevada's first GiveCamp.
"Vegas GiveCamp is an event where a bunch of technology people say we want to donate our talent to make Las Vegas a better place by providing these free services to non profits in town," said Co-founder Owen Carver.
For an entire weekend, teams will work, create, even sleep in tents so that by Sunday night a bunch of our nonprofits have high-tech solutions.
"We will meet with them for several months in advance to find out what hey need," Carver said. "How can we use that weekend the best so that we can develop the best technology for them?"
So what can these guys do? Create websites, build apps, even provide database management services for non-profits that serve the community in Southern Nevada.
The camp is in June and applications are being accepted now. If you'd like to apply or you are a tech talent who wants to donate time, go to www.lasvegasgivecamp.org
