Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- We now know the identity of the elderly woman that was hit by a vehicle this past Thursday.
She has been identified as 80-year-old Nancy Lee Malanga of Las Vegas.
It happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Desert Inn, just west of Durango.
Police said Malanga was struck and killed by a vehicle heading westbound on Desert Inn.
They said she was not in a crosswalk and was crossing the street mid-block.
Malanga was pronounced dead at the scene.
This was Metro's 4th traffic-related fatality in just the past few days.
Sgt. Richard Strader with Metro said, "I don't know how many times I can say this. We obviously have a problem in our valley right now with these types of collisions. I challenge all the drivers in our community to pay attention on the roadway and to look down the roadway to anticipate some type of collision."
Neither speed nor impairment is thought to be involved in the accident.
Metro has reported 93 traffic-related fatalities since the start of this year.
