Woman killed in I-15 rollover near Mesquite identified

Mesquite, NV (KTNV) -- The woman killed in a rollover crash near Mesquite has been identified.

The Clark County Coroner said 43-year-old Maria Hernandez of Brawley, California died from her injuries.

The crash happened last Sunday morning on I-15 northbound at mile marker 99.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Hernandez was driving an SUV when it rolled into the center median. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Hernandez died at the scene.

There were two passengers in the vehicle; a 3-year-old child and another adult.

NHP said the child was not wearing a seat belt and was also ejected from the vehicle. Luckily, the child was okay.

The adult passenger was not hurt but was arrested for possession of meth.
