CREATED Jul. 26, 2013
(KTNV) -- This morning, a new twist in the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal. Pressure is mounting for him to drop out of the race for mayor of New York City.
Now, we're hearing from the woman at the center of it all. Her name is Sydney Leathers; she says she's laying out all the details of her online relationship with Weiner because, as she puts it, he manipulated her.
"He's saying one thing to me, say another thing to his wife, saying another thing on the campaign trail; I don't know who the real Anthony Weiner is, I guess," commented Leathers to "Inside Edition".
She spoke to the TV show saying she first contacted Weiner in 2011, after he'd resigned from congress because of a different sexting scandal.
She says her relationship started innocently (she was a fan) but, the texts with him soon turned sexually explicit.
Then Leathers says as their six-month online relationship fizzled, Weiner changed.
"He got a little bit controlling with me… towards the end," says Leathers.
This scandal is having an impact on Weiner's campaign. A new poll shows that support among voters has dropped significantly. For now though-- he's staying in the race.
