Woman arrested for attempting to pass drugs to inmate during visitation

Mohave County, AZ (KTNV) -- Arizona woman arrested for attempting to pass drugs to an inmate during visitation.
20-year-old Ana Maria Cabezas of Phoenix was arrested on Saturday for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, transport dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, transport narcotic drugs for sale, promoting prison contraband, conveying contraband to a prisoner and two counts of involving minor in drug offense.
Mohave County deputies responded to the Arizona State Prison in reference to a visitor bringing contraband to the prison facility during visitation with an inmate.
A sergeant at the prison observed Cabezas passing contraband to an inmate during visitation. It was confiscated and weighed approximately 40 grams.
Cabezas was then detained and taken into custody. She had two small children with her, ages one and three.
The children were released to Child Protective Services.
The contraband contained four plastic bags containing a brown substance, eleven plastic bags containing a brown powdery substance, ten bags containing a brown substance, a plastic bag containing a black stick substance, 13 smaller plastic bags with black spades and a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance.
A field test showed some of the contraband positive for meth and heroin.
