Wind causes power outages in Las Vegas valley

UPDATE AT 12 P.M.: The Edward A. Greer Education Center, Vegas PBS and school district offices are closed near Flamingo Road and Eucalyptus because of a power outage.

UPDATE AS OF 10:45 A.M.: A representative from NV Energy said power has been restored in Goodsprings.

There are currently about 1,071 customers in the area that are without power. No specific information was given on neighborhoods.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The high winds are causing a few power outages in the Las Vegas Valley Monday morning.

NV Energy said there are scattered outages throughout the area.

Major areas include about 700 customers in the general area of Spring Mountain Road and Valley View Boulevard; 650 customers are without power in Indian Springs; and 70 customers are affected in Good Springs.
