Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Some Nye County residents whose homes escaped damage from fires a couple of weeks ago are still dealing with another disaster. They don't have running water.
The flames that threatened Trout Canyon a couple of weeks ago destroyed a water supply line.
The only water Don Kubinski and his neighbors have is hauled in from a tanker at the entry to their enclave, or hauled in from Pahrump, which is miles away.
Kubinski says, "You don't know what you don't have until you don't. Can't flush your toilet and turn on the sink to brush your teeth."
Problem is, the supply line is privately owned. It was built by the Bowman family in the 1960's on a government land easement.
Trout Canyon residents say they feel the Bowman estate should fix the pipe, but admit they don't know if they are legally responsible.
They hope to get answers at a meeting scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday at 330 South Valley View near Alta.
