Vigil held for former police Explorer killed in motorcycle crash

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Tears were shed, prayers were spoken and candles burned at a vigil Friday evening where Jonathon Ramirez died.
Nearly 100 family, friends and even strangers came to say goodbye during the vigil at Tropicana and Decatur.
Ramirez was a Metro Explorer, on his way to becoming a cop, when his motorcycle crashed.
He had a two-year-old son and was about to be a dad again.
His pregnant fiance tried to hold back tears, while a grief-stricken father tried to accept that his 21-year-old son was gone.

The LVMPD Explorer Program will be having a fundraiser car wash on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Brake Masters at 8080 South Eastern from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All donations will benefit the Ramirez family.
