Viewing held for teenager killed in motorcycle crash
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Family and friends are saying goodbye to a promising teenager and Metro Explorer, killed by a hit run driver, who police said was drunk.
A viewing was held Tuesday at Palm Mortuary for 19-year-old Angel Velasquez.
People packed the mortuary to pay their respects.
Family also spoke out about the tragic crash that killed the teen.
"I personally think that he could have still been alive had that person stopped and helped him. DUI is a very serious issue, I think there should be more laws against that," said Sarai Jimenez, cousin.
"That is the biggest problem in this city. I just can't believe that people could be in so much trouble already, drinking and driving," said another family member.
Police arrested Jvon Williams for suspected drunk driving and hitting Velasquez near the intersection of Sahara and Van Patten.
The funeral for Velasquez will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Life Church, followed by the burial at Palm Mortuary.
