Viewers reach out after story about terminally-ill man airs

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Action News featured a couple on Sept. 11 that was treated to a special night out at their favorite Las Vegas restaurant.
Robert Vannucci is terminally ill. He and his wife, Nancy, married in 1967 -- more than 46 years ago.
Nathan Adelson Hospice teamed up with other organizations to treat the couple to a special dinner at Nora's Italian Cuisine.
After the story aired, the phones began ringing off the hook at Nathan Adelson Hospice by people wanting to reach out to Robert Vannucci.
It turns out that Vannucci is well-known by many Action News viewers. He spent most of his career as the chief operating officer at the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
Nancy Vannucci said her husband has taken a turn for the worse since their special date but that she is thankful for any time that she has left with her husband.
