United Blood Services in Las Vegas in urgent need of blood
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- United Blood Services in Las Vegas is in urgent need of O-type blood.
Although only six percent of the population has O-negative blood, all people of all blood types can receive it. This blood type is also used for treatment of babies and is used daily in neonatal facilities across the valley. UBS also needs O-positive blood because it is the most prevalent blood type.
There will be two blood drives this week. The first one will take place on Aug. 22 at The Orleans on West Tropicana Avenue and the other one will take place on Aug. 24 at Santa Fe Station on North Rancho Drive.
In addition, donors can visit a UBS location at 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., 601 Whitney Ranch Drive in Henderson, or 4950 W. Craig Road.
To give back to their donors, everyone who donates blood throughout the month of August will also receive one voucher for a buy-one-get-one-free all day ride passes to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus and one voucher valid for two admissions to see Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget.
