Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- New details have been released on the two men killed in a hit and run crash overnight.
Las Vegas police need the public's help finding the driver who fled the scene. It happened on Las Vegas Boulevard near Windmill.
Police are looking for the driver of a 2008 Ford pickup truck.
21-year-old Phillip Nguyen of Las Vegas was killed, along with a 20-year-old man who has not been identified.
Investigators said around 1:15 a.m., the two men were on a moped, stopped at a red light. That's when the pickup was heading south on Las Vegas Boulevard.
"That vehicle slammed into the rear of the moped and witnesses are telling us at a high rate of speed. It instantly killed one of the operators of the moped," said Sgt. Richard Strader.
The other passenger was taken to UMC where he later died.
The pickup then hit but didn't injure the driver of a white Toyota, all while dragging the moped with it.
About a half mile from the scene, the driver of the truck came down Shelbourne Avenue, eventually coming to a stop near Rancho Destino Road. Police said the moped was still attached to the front of the truck, and the driver then fled on foot.
Police have yet to find the driver.
Police said since the beginning of 2014, one in four traffic deaths has involved a motorcycle or moped.
