LAS VEGAS (AP) -- An acquaintance who was with a Saudi Arabian air force sergeant in Las Vegas for the New Year's holiday told a jury that he knocked on a hotel room bathroom door behind which a 13-year-old boy claims he was raped.
Rashed Alshahri testified Thursday the boy returned and followed 24-year-old Mazen Alotaibi into the bathroom after being told to leave their hotel room due to his age.
Alotaibi is standing trial on kidnapping, sexual assault and lewdness charges that could get him life in prison.
Testimony resumes Monday.
Alotaibi's lawyer maintains the boy consented to sex in return for marijuana or money.
Alshahri says he didn't hear voices, cries or a struggle while he was knocking on the locked bathroom door at the Circus Circus hotel.
