Traffic stop Friday morning leads to standoff

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A standoff following a traffic stop ended peacefully Friday morning at a residence on Deacon Avenue in the northeast part of the Valley.
The incident began at about 6:30 a.m. Las Vegas police attempted to stop a driver near Tropicana Avenue and U.S. Highway 95.
As the patrol officer got out of his car, the car took off.
The police were not initially able to locate the vehicle but eventually tracked it to a residence on Deacon Avenue, near East Owens Avenue and North Pecos Road.
The person in the house initially refused to come out and several residences were evacuated.
The suspect eventually exited and was taken into custody. Police say the vehicle was stolen.
There is no further information at this time.
