Texas grandmother arrested for allegedly planting drugs on grandchild

(KTNV) -- She is definitely not your typical grandmother.

At least that is what police are saying.

They believe that a Texas grandmother has been sending her grandchild to school with drugs.

The drugs weren't for sale though. Police say that she planted them on her granddaughter because she wanted the girl's father to go to jail.

Police think she did it so that she would get custody of the child.

But, she says that she is innocent and the drugs really do belong the father and the 9-year-old girl is too scared to tell on her dad.

Texas police are trying to sort the whole thing out. The grandmother is currently being held on drug abuse charges.

She was arrested in Arizona when she was visiting her grandchild.

She hasn't been charged in connection with the drugs yet because the police can not prove that they belong to her.
