(KTNV) -- A 13-year-old boy in Kansas has been suspended because of a Vera Bradley purse and his mom says it is discrimination.
Skylar Davis was summoned to the vice principal's office and told to take off his bag. When he refused, he was suspended.
So, Skylar's mom went through the student handbook and found out that there is no policy about bags or purses or who can carry them.
He had been wearing the purse since school started in August.
Skylar's friends and family are standing behind him.
The vice principal has refused to comment on the suspension.
Davis attends Anderson County Senior-Junior School in Garnett, Kansas.
