Employees at a Texas Walmart stumbled upon a startling discovery this week, when they found a 14-year-old boy secretly living in the store.
He'd been living inside the Corsicana, Texas store for 4 days when they found him.
The teenager built two hidden compounds. One was behind a few strollers boxes, the other behind stacks of paper towels and toilet paper.
Customers that walked down the aisles apparently never noticed him.
Walmart spokesman Brian Nick told the Daily News they are investigating the situation and are not sure exactly how long the boy was in the building. He said as soon as the manager discovered the child they contacted authorities and were concerned for his safety.
The boy told police he was so worried about getting caught he wore diapers instead of using the store restroom.
His trash trail eventually led to his discovery.
The boy had been staying with his aunt because his parents who live in a neighboring city were out of town. On July 28 he left the home while she was watching television and she called the police.
The teen lived off food from the store, making a crack in the back of the drink aisle to steal beverages.
Police were called and released the boy to the custody of relatives.
