Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Power Exchange is an adult social club located at 3610 South Highland Drive near West Twain Ave.
Its website says it provides all kinds of sexual services for adults 18 and over. The U.S. Attorney's office confirmed that it is just one of several buildings raided Wednesday, but would not confirm they are searching for synthetic drugs.
The club does its business at night, but Wednesday morning, the parking lot was filled with officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, SWAT and several other law enforcement agencies conducting some sort of a raid.
Witnesses snapped photos showing all of the police activity on a normally quiet street.
One witness, Betty Resnick from the nearby business Fine Beauty Cosmetics, said she had never seen so many police cars. She said it looked like something out of a movie set.
LVMPD confirms that they served a search warrant at approximately 8 a.m. They said they are conducting a joint task force investigation, led by the Department of Homeland Security, that is still ongoing.
Witnesses said they usually see all kinds of people in and out of here on a daily basis but Wednesday morning they saw a robot going toward the entrance. Then they heard back-to-back explosions.
Art Greene, a local business owner, said, "It was loud. I was literally across the street and the second boom made me take a step back. The next thing I know they are charging in."
Greene also said two people were brought out in handcuffs before being taken back inside, "They were both wearing shorts, barefoot, they weren’t well dressed, they weren’t homely looking."
Questions remain as to why this business was targeted but for its nearby neighbors, they are glad it's over for now.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed that all documents are sealed in the case and no arrests have been made.
