More than 7,600 people have applied for TSA PreCheck expedited screening benefits at two Las Vegas-area enrollment centers over the past six months.
TSA PreCheck is a risk-based, intelligence-driven approach to aviation security that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on in dedicated screening lanes.
TSA PreCheck is available at 118 airports nationwide including at McCarran Las Vegas International Airport's Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
An enrollment center at LAS is located on Level 2 of Terminal 1, near the C/D security checkpoint. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A second off-airport enrollment center is located at 2080 East Flamingo Road, Suite 302. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents can begin the application process online by clicking here and selecting "Pre-Enroll Now" in the TSA PreCheck section of the webpage. When prompted, applicants should select "Las Vegas" from the enrollment location list and continue with the online application process.
Applicants are required to make an in-person visit to an enrollment center to verify citizenship or immigration status, as well as to provide fingerprints. Approved applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail in two to three weeks. The KTN, which is valid for five years, will also be available online after five to seven business days.
There is a nonrefundable application processing fee of $85.
