Super early Christmas ad spoiling holiday mood

(KTNV) -- Kmart is getting into the holiday spirit a little earlier this year. In fact, the retail giant launched its first Christmas ad 105 days before the big day.
The new ad features a gingerbread man sneaking up on a woman working at an office. Then the ad says "Don't let the holidays sneak up on you."
Kmart's popular layaway program is offering no service fees for new layaway purchases online or in store and that offer is valid between Sept.8 and Nov. 23.
Unfortunately, the ad caused a social media backlash against the company. Almost immediately after the ad aired, unhappy consumers took to Facebook voicing their distaste. Many Americans say this is just too soon. Last year, Kmart's first holiday ad only aired on Oct. 28.
A Kmart spokeswoman says the ad is being "tweaked" and offered no further comment.
