Storm uproots trees, soaks neighborhoods in northwest valley

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The storm that soaked the valley Thursday afternoon, also did a lot of damage.

At least two trees near U.S. 95 and Ann were ripped out of the ground. One of them was a massive 20-foot tree that blocked the homeowner's front door and part of the garage when it was slammed to the ground.

Neighbors said the storm sounded and felt like a tornado.

"I just saw wind gusting and everything, and it was just rain everywhere. It was just crazy," said Andrew Sanchez.

The rain moved east to Craig and Lamb, turning that intersection into a lake.

But the heaviest rainfall pounded the pavement at Gowan and Revere. There were even reports of hail.
