North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A homeowner in North Las Vegas said she is lucky to be alive after a sport-utility vehicle slammed into her house in North Las Vegas.

The incident happened at around 7 a.m. Friday morning. It appeared the driver of a Toyota SUV lost control and hit the home located near Lone Mountain Road and Donna Street.

The homeowner said she is normally in the room that the SUV slammed into but that she woke up late and was in a back room.

It took crews about two hours to cut down trees and tow the vehicle off the property.

Police believe the SUV also hit a car that was parked in the driveway of a nearby house.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene. North Las Vegas police are still looking for that person. The SUV had been reported stolen.
