Sparks, NV (KTNV) -- One of the middle school students wounded in the Sparks shooting spoke publicly on Thursday for the first time.
12-year-old Mason was one of the two students wounded when a classmate opened fire at Sparks Middle School.
He said he was shot in the abdomen while he was trying to help a teacher, Michael Landsberry, who died from his gunshot wounds.
Thursday on CNN, he shared his thoughts on the tragedy.
"I want everybody in the world to know that wars and battles and anything dealing with weapons and guns and knives, they are all weapons and they could kill you very easily if you hit the right spot," said Mason.
The other wounded student is in stable condition and should be okay.
Investigators still haven't determined a motive in the shooting.
