Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Two teenage boys are safe after apparently being lured into a vehicle by a sex offender, with the promise of being on a TV show.
According to police paperwork, the incident happened on Sunday.
Henderson police said 21-year old Jeremy Flemings is in jail on kidnapping charges after police said he approached the boys in the parking lot of a Walgreens next to Green Valley High School.
The boys told police they went to get snacks when Flemings pulled up in a Range Rover asking them if they wanted to be in a TV show with rapper Lil Wayne.
The boys got in the car, but soon found themselves locked in. They claim they asked Flemings to let them out, but he refused.
They were eventually able to escape and call police, who later discovered the driver was a registered sex offender.
Flemings has at least five felony convictions in other states including two for promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor.
"That's really scary that somebody like that is so close around and he can still come up to kids," said Green Valley High School student Amanda Suarez.
Flemings told officers a different story, and said the boys approached him looking to smoke pot.
A judge has set his bail at $500,000. His next hearing is June 3 at 9 a.m.
